Internship

The United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (UNRCPD) offers internship positions all year round. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate and post-graduate students interested in security matters, in particular disarmament, arms control or non-proliferation issues, to get involved with UNRCPD's work and to assist in the promotion of United Nations global norms of peace and disarmament.

The internship positions are unpaid and run for periods of three to six months. The exact timing of the internships is flexible and negotiated in advance in order to suit the preferences of both the intern and the office. The duties of our interns include drafting, monitoring, research and analysis, conference planning and direct assistance to the Director and Deputy. UNRCPD's office is located in Kathmandu, Nepal. Interns will have the opportunity to meet United Nations employees from the over 25 other United Nations offices and agencies stationed here during their internship. Interns are also provided with the opportunity to take leave from the office in order to explore the country or region.
